Half-finger Pilates gloves

The SoftGrip Pilates Gloves are half-finger gloves in a soft stretch knit. The knit is 82% cotton, 15% polyester, 2% spandex and 1% silicone. Silicone grip dots sit on the palm and along the underside of each finger. The fingertips are bare. The back is open, with one strap at the wrist and no velcro. The glove pulls on.

The surface

The silicone dots cover the palm and continue along the underside of each finger. Everything else is plain stretch knit. The fingertips are left bare. The open back leaves the top of the hand uncovered, so the glove reads as a light layer rather than a full glove.

Reformer and mat

On the reformer, the dotted palm meets the footbar, the straps and the frame. On the mat, it meets the mat itself, a Pilates ring or a small ball. The same glove is worn for both. The fingertips are bare on springs, ropes and straps.

Sizing

There is one size. Laid flat, before it stretches, each glove measures 10 cm by 12 cm. The stretch knit gives from there. Men and women order the same glove.

Colours and sets

The main gloves come in a range of colours, listed on the product. Three limited sets sit alongside them: the Blue, Power and Spring 3-Pack Sets. Each is a 3-Pack of SoftGrip half-finger gloves in three colours. Jacaranda, a lavender, is a limited colour sold on its own.

Care and dispatch

The gloves are machine washable. Orders dispatch next day while your colour is in stock with us, otherwise in 1 to 3 business days. Rookakon keeps the design simple: one cut, one size. The thinking behind the design is in Introducing SoftGrip.

Questions

Do you need them?

Not always. Many studios ask for grip socks. Gloves are a personal choice. Some people like a knit layer between the palm and the equipment. Others prefer bare hands.

Reformer or mat?

Both. The dots sit on the palm and the finger undersides, which are the parts of the hand that meet the footbar, the straps and the mat.

Will they fit bigger hands, or men?

The glove is one size, 10 cm by 12 cm laid flat before it stretches. One customer wrote: "These gloves are amazing, I got a pair for my wife and a pair for me, at first I thought my hands would be too big but they fit well." (Allan W)

What size should I get?

SoftGrip Gloves are one size, half-finger, ending in one strap at the wrist that sits snugly on most hands. If you have larger hands, expect a closer, supportive fit rather than a loose one. They measure 10cm wide by 12cm high laid flat.

Do they fit larger hands, or men?

One size with a stretchy knit that adapts to most hands. A customer who is six foot tall says they look small out of the pack but stretch nicely on.

Will they slip during a class?

No. The palm has a full silicone grip pattern that holds on the reformer bar, mat and straps, wet or dry hands included.

Is it strength or grip?

Slipping palms and strength are two different things. The dots do the holding so you can stop bracing.

Can I wash them?

Yes. Machine wash cold (below 42°C) or on a gentle cycle, inside out for the most protection. A Wash Bag protects them alongside your socks in the machine. Tumble dry low: tumble drying is fine inside a ProtectGrip Wash Bag.

Can I put them in the dryer?

What are they made from?

A breathable cotton-rich knit with a flexible silicone palm print: 82% cotton, 15% polyester, 2% spandex and 1% silicone. Soft against skin, with grip exactly where you need it.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. Every order ships with tracking. We email you the tracking link when your order is dispatched, and the first update can take up to 48 hours to appear.

Can I return them if they are not right?

Yes. Returns: 30 days from delivery. Worn is fine. Not washed. No return fees. To start a return, email support@rookakon.com.

How many pairs can I order?

Order two pairs, or pick up 4 or more pieces and save 20% to 30%. A spare pair lets you rotate one while the other is in the wash, and pairing gloves with socks or a SoftClip in the same colour completes your matching set.

Do the fingertips get in the way of my phone or mat setup?

The half-finger cut leaves your fingertips free, so you can still use a touchscreen or adjust a strap without taking the gloves off.

Will my hands still breathe?

The knit is breathable and cotton-rich, the back of the hand is open, with one strap at the wrist. Nothing to fasten, no velcro.
