Six moments in class

The missing link in hand placement

You don't think about your hands in class. They move anyway. Six moments your grip drifts, and what sits between palm and bar.

Where your hands go: 6 moments your grip moves in class

Start with where your hand is sitting. Most of the work in a class happens before the spring even loads. These are the moments it drifts.

Rose half-finger Pilates grip gloves, palm side with grip dots, gripping a footbar

Moment 01

The first press off the footbar

The spring loads, the carriage moves, and your hand creeps forward to chase it. By rep three you are holding a different spot to where you started. Nobody planned that.

Moment 02

When you start squeezing to stay put

A hand that is not sure of the surface tightens. Knuckles go white, the forearm takes over the holding, and the move becomes about the bar instead of the body. It was never about being weak. It was about not trusting the surface.

Moment 03

The strap that keeps turning

Straps rotate. Handles spin. So you re-grip, then re-grip again, and count re-sets instead of reps. Here is where we come in: half finger, silicone dots across the palm, 82% cotton stretch knit, one size, on in two seconds.

Moment 04

Down dog on a damp mat

Hands travel a few centimetres forward. You reset, lose the breath, and start the count again. The dots sit between palm and mat.

Moment 05

When the fingers want to open

Half finger means the tips stay bare. Fingers open, and you keep the feel of the bar, the strap, the mat. The dots are not decorative. Same idea as a tyre. It is not the rubber, it is the contact.

Moment 06

The last set, when attention goes

End of class, focus drops and the hands wander first. Same plank. One difference: something between palm and bar.

New to rkkn?

Six moments, one pair of gloves. Here is how ordering works.

If this is your first time with rkkn, here is the short version. We make a small kit for the studio. The gloves come in packs, because most people keep a pair in the wash. Every piece you add moves you up the ladder. And if you would rather not choose, the sets are already matched. Pick your pack just below.

rkkn makes a small kit for the studio. Gloves for your hands, socks for your feet, and the extras that live in the same bag.

2Gloves come in packs

One pair works. Most people keep a second pair in the wash, so the gloves are sold in packs. The more pairs in a pack, the less each pair costs.

3Then the ladder kicks in

Every piece in your cart counts: gloves, socks, clips, the bottle, the cap. Each step up the ladder unlocks something, and the steps stack on top of the pack price.
